Garlic Prawns

Serves 2-3

  • 450 grams cleaned and deveined green prawns
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 large cloves garlic, crushed
  • Handful of flat leaf parsley, chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • Pinch of dried chilli flakes to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Heat the butter and oil in a frying pan over a medium-hot heat until foam subsides. Add the garlic, parsley, lemon juice, wine, chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
  2. Add prawns and cook, stirring frequently for 5-6 minutes until prawns are pink. Remove from heat.
  3. Place prawns on serving plate and pour sauce over prawns from the frying pan. Serve immediately with either steamed Asian greens or steamed vegetables.

Really easy to make, quick. Very tasty, I used the vegetable stock as suggested instead of the wine. good recipe

So I havent started CS yet (going away on a holiday very soon so starting after that) but i thought I would try some of the recipes, Made this with some alterations mainly because of lack of ingredients :P
Only had a small amount of prawns so mixed them in some dried parsley, lime juice (didnt have lemon), garlic, salt, pepper and the chilli flakes. Cooked them in a very small amount of butter and put them in scrambled eggs with some fetta and capsicum (was supposed to be an omelette but we wont go there haha :P) Tasted absolutely amazing! Me and my partner loved it! Can easily see myself making this on a regular basis.

I think the same. Do you need the wine? I am trying to find dishes that would suit my daughter, son in law and two young granchildren.

this wont print out properly. Anyone else having trouble? It cut some of the recipe out and the picture but printed the comments

Had this for dinner was very very yummy I also added steamed vege's to the mix to get the flavour through them & hubby said when are we having that again?

Hi Lynneponting, Thanks for picking up on that, we must have missed out the Parsley ingredient listing. We've added it in now. About a handful or a tablespoon is absolutely fine to use. There's not really any limit on how much fresh herbs you can use (since they're so low in calories), so if you love the taste then feel free to use more for added flavour!
